Identification

Megrim has a slightly larger head than a normal flat fish. They also have an elongated body. They are light brown in colour. Megrim are left eyed.

Habitat

Megrim are bottom dwellers and like sandy and muddy sea floors. They are more likely to be found at sea.

Megrim are good eating fish

We recommend cooking them, like plaice on the bone under the grill. Spread a little butter on the and add a dash of lemon juice and some seasoning prior to cooking.
